For more information about Zoom chat, select Getting Started with Zoom chat.

1. Start a Zoom meeting and select Chat icon in the bottom toolbar.  A side panel will open.  

2. Review the side panel and locate Chat options - three dots at the top of the Chat panel.   Type messages at the bottom of the screen. Review the options at the bottom of the Chat panel.  With the options selected, begin chatting, formatting the text, use emojis, upload a file, or take a screenshot.

Disabling Chat

1. Log into the Zoom Dashboard, In Meeting (Basic), select Meeting Chat and disable.  Review all the options available in the Settings screen.
