A common issue that instructors are having is that the forums are set to Visible Groups by default when they are created. If the course does not use groups, students cannot post to these new Forum Activities.

1. If a course doesn't use groups at all, go to the forum's Edit Settings page, and click on the Common Module Settings heading.

2. Change the Group Mode field to "No Groups" in the dropdown menu:




3. Click the blue Save and Return to Course button at the bottom of the page.
