Any student that does not participate in a graded Moodle activity, such as a Quiz, Forum, Assignment, etc. will need to receive a grade of zero (0) for the grade book to calculate their overall grade correctly.

To insert zero grades for non-participants:

1. Click on Grades in the Contextual menu at the top of the Course page.  

2. In the dropdown button, find and select Single view from the View section.  

3. Instead of VIEW BY Users, select Grade items. Click on Select a grade item to view the dropdown list of graded items.

4. Once an item is selected, select Actions. Select Bulk insert grades.

5. A dialog box will appear with a disclaimer to check, select Empty grades and 0.

6. Click the black Save button in the lower left-hand side of the page. 


8. Repeat this process until all grade items have zero grades for non-participating students.
