Accessibility is a important issue in course design. It is crucial that all students can receive the same information in your course. There are a few specific changes that can be made to enhance the current level of accessibility. These include:
Text
- Use Heading Styles in Moodle Text Editor
- Do not rely on color for meaning (for example: memorize the red dates on the following list...)
- Underlined text is reserved for hyperlinks only
Tables
- Use headings on columns and/or rows
- Don't use just images of tables
Files
- Accessible PDF files are preferable over other types of documents (Word, PPT, Excel, etc.)
Images
- Confirm that all images in the course have Alt Text
- The Alt Text should convey the same information as the image itself
- This includes images within documents and presentations (even from a publisher)
